Relocation to Naches
A small town with modern conveniences and old-fashioned values,
Naches is nestled at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. The
area offers a multitude of year-around outdoor activities, including
fishing, hunting, hiking, boating, river rafting, and jeeping, as
well as snowmobiling and downhill and cross-country skiing.
This conservative, but forward-thinking town offers a quality of
life that most seek, but rarely find when they move to a new community.
From the country atmosphere to the outstanding “Blue Ribbon
Schools”, many families choose to relocate to Naches for what
the area has to offer their families.
With White Pass Ski Resort and Mt. Rainier located just 45 miles
to the west on Highway 12, as well as the city of Yakima located
just 10 miles to the east ... whether you’re looking for outdoor
recreation, a community college and higher education distance learning
opportunities, quick access to the the Yakima Air Terminal, or shopping
at the local malls, your destination is close at hand.
Being centrally located in the state, Naches is 2-3+ hours away
from Seattle, Spokane or Portland.
While retaining the high quality of life offered with a small town
feel, Naches' proximity to the greater Yakima area allows residents
quick and easy access to cultural, shopping and medical facilities.
Naches Neighborhoods
If you keep a sharp eye, home ownership opportunities are available
in Naches. When one thinks of Naches, they can divide the area into
three distinct residential areas:
Chinook Pass and the Nile: Get the true feeling
of living in the mountains while only being minutes from the center
of Naches. This mountain community features anything from cabins
on one of the three rivers - usually located on US Forest Service
leased land - to small ranches and mansions placed in scenic and
private areas. Prices can range in the $600,000-$700,000 range for
that special get-away, though, most homes are priced in the low-to-mid
$100,000s.
The Town of Naches: Most of the homes located in
this rustic little jewel of a city were built 50-80 years ago. While
some can feature beautiful porches, shaded lots and grand facades,
many are more of a quaint bungalow design. One thing they all have
in common - great pride of ownership! A walk through the town on
a summer's evening will give you a taste of how caring and friendly
the townsfolk can be. Homes in town are priced anywhere from $100,000
to $180,000. Pay close attention when one of these homes comes on
the market, as available homes sell pretty fast!
In recent years, new home development on the west side of town
includes planned residential developments such as Naches
Meadows.
Gleed & Lower Naches Valley: If you saw Gleed
20 years ago, you wouldn't recognize it today! Quite a housing boom
has occurred in areas surrounding Gleed since the 1990s and the
homes that existed prior have been refurbished to their original
conditions. Close to Yakima, yet part of the prized Naches Valley
School system makes Gleed a popular place to own a home. Prices
range from $120,000 to over $300,000, depending upon what it is
you are looking for.
So, no matter your want: moving into mountain living, a quaint town
or a bedroom community, Naches neighborhoods have something worth
looking at.
Schools
The Naches Valley School
District is the largest school district in the State of Washington,
encompassing over 1375 square miles. The school district serves
1593 children from families living in the White Pass and Chinook
Pass areas and the Naches Valley down to the Twin Bridges. There
are three schools within the district: the Naches Valley Primary
School, Naches Valley Middle School and Naches Valley High School.
