Naches, WA 98937
New Playground equipment, purchased, prepared and installed
by the Chinook Pass Lions Club at Jim Sprick Community Park.
The playground and the adjacent walking/jogging path made
the park a more inviting place for local families and visitors
both. |

About Chinook Pass Lions Club
We are located along the Chinook Pass Highway and have been an
active part of our community since 1977. Past projects have included
providing the first police dog for the sheriff’s department,
helping to provide a repeater station which provides better communication
for our emergency services, and spearheading the creation of the
30 Mile Fire Memorial located at the Naches Ranger Station. Recently
we have purchased and constructed a playground and jogging trail
at our local park.
Current Activities
We are involved in many projects, some of which occur once a year,
while others go on year round. A few examples are: providing supplies
for our local food bank, helping to serve meals to senior citizens,
supplying food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas, providing
medical support through equipment and services for people with special
needs. Through projects like these we hope to live up to our Lion’s
motto “We Serve”.

Care Packages
August 2006 - The Chinook Pass Lions Club is gathering items to
be sent to our troops overseas.
We will be collecting these things at the Community Picnic at Jim
Sprick Park on August 27th.
Suggested items are beef jerky, nuts, trail mix, chapstick, eye
drops, toilet paper, books, magazines, Gatorade powder, and aftershave.
These are the most frequently requested items, but use your imagination
– anything from playing cards to foot powder, nail clippers
to lotions, juice boxes, disposable cameras, and tea bags are just
a few more ideas. Think of those things that might make life more
comfortable or varied.
Items that may NOT be sent are chocolate (between May & September),
alcohol, pork products, or glass containers. Please put scented
items or anything liquid in a Ziplock bag – just in case.
Any questions, feel free to call 658-1707 or 658-2011.
