Cost of annual membership - $5.00. Membership entitles a person to attend garden club meetings and be involved in club activities. About the Lower Naches Garden ClubThe Lower Naches Garden Club was chartered over 50 years ago. The members are now older so our meetings are educational and often involve tours of gardens in our community and tours of other organization,s i.e., Toppenish Hop Museum, Genealogical Society, trip to see the Bluebirds over the Wenas, etc. ActivitiesOur only activity now is the maintenance of the Memorial Rose Garden at the Yakima Area Arboretum. Five years ago our members, with assistance from spouses, prepared and planted a Rose Garden at the Yakima Arboretum. Since that time, we have added to the garden and last year we put in a 7 foot water fountain with a new rose bed. We plant roses in memory of lost loved ones and put memory markers on each rose. Garden Club members maintain the rose garden, pruning, spraying, deadheading, spreading bark, etc. Our meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at different locations, sometimes in members homes, sometimes at restaurants before tours. We schedule our meetings a year in advance. Club meetings are at noon or I p.m. Non-members are always welcome as guests. There is no cost, unless we have lunch at a restaurant, then people pay for their own meal. Return to Naches Area Clubs and Civic Organizations |
