Jim Sprick Community Park
Rental
Jim Sprick Community Park is available to all residents of the
area for day-use (groups of fewer than 25) and no reservations are
required. In order to obtain income to provide improvements to the
Park, local groups of larger than 25 people and out-of-the-area
groups can rent the Park but are required to make reservations,
sign a contract outlining use of the Park, and pay a small fee.
In recent years, the Park was been rented for weddings, receptions,
reunions, and like events. Overnight dry-camping is also available
for large groups (no hook-ups are available), but no camping is
allowed for the general public. The Park is being kept rustic, although
a large covered picnic area with a refrigerator is available, a
new playground and an approximately ¼-mile paved walking
path has been added, along with showers and flush-toilets. For
more information on the park or click
here for a map
Clubhouse Rental
The Nile Community Clubhouse is available for weddings, parties,
reunions and other indoor activities. Amenities include tables and
chairs, full kitchen and other incidentals.
To reserve the park facilities, or the Club House located on the
Nile Road, for your next event, please contact Andy
or Evelyn.
Nile Valley Days
Nile Valley Days is held at Sprick Park during the third full weekend
in July of each year (July 19-20, 2008). This weekend is packed
with fun family activities: Many vendors with hand-crafted items,
food booths, displays, kid’s games, egg-toss, live entertainment,
Lions’ Bingo, black-powder demonstrations, horseshoe tournaments,
rescue demonstrations by Central WA Mountain Rescue, a Civil War
encampment and demonstration in full uniform, and amateur wood events
including the spike drive, cross-cut saw, wood-splitting, and axe
throw. When available, we also have archery demonstrations, pony
rides for the kids, alpacas on display, and other events. Each year
we try to include a new family-oriented activity.
A $1.00 donation is taken at the gate, but is donation only.
Nile-Cliffdell Firefighters' Breakfast (at Sprick Park) on Saturday,
Aug. 2, 2008, from 6:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
